Lifestyle
Lakes Village is nestled against a backdrop of hills and farming countryside on the edge of Killaloe, one of the most attractive lakeside and canal towns in the west of Ireland. Close to the town centre, the church, farmer’s market library and amenities, it offers the opportunity for a balanced lifestyle with scope to optimise individual physical and social well-being.
Killaloe is a historic town whose story goes back to Brian Boru, is home to the early Christian Church of St. Molua relocated from Friar’s Island about 1km downstream and the Cathedral of St. Flannan with romanesque doorway and stone carvings, featuring ogham and runic inscriptions.
In addition, bordered on the town’s eastern side are the charming waterways of Lough Derg, the Shannon river and canal - the richest single archaeological waterways site in Ireland with a newly developed looped walk along its bank. Other loops walks include Garraunboy, Lackareagh and the Glen while artists and writers groups, fishing, pitch and putt and golf are readily accessible. Within easy car and bus access are the urban centres of Nenagh and Limerick.
